Randy Mortensen is an accomplished Senior Executive and Board Member with more than 25 years of success across the non-profit, finance, energy, and technology industries. He has fulfilled roles ranging from Vice-President of Business Development, to Chief Operating Officer, President, and Chief Executive Officer. Leveraging extensive experience generating and sustaining growth opportunities, he is a valuable asset for organizations working to produce growth by raising equity, cutting costs, or by improving internal operations for better alignment. His broad areas of expertise include sustainability, energy conservation, financial services, fundraising, business development, and organizational leadership. 

Throughout his career, Randy has held various leadership positions with organizations including Energy Solutions International (co-founder, rapid revenue growth – from $600,000 to $30 million in four years), Energy Masters International (serving as the VP of Sales & Operations for Xcel Energy, leading the $125 million unregulated subsidiary), Lighting Science Group (EVP of Global Business Development), and Water Monitor International (CEO from startup to exit).

In 2006, he co-founded World Wide Village (501C3) where he still serves as President. In late 2016, Extreme Influence was formed as a boutique speakers bureau, focused on delivering industry-leading presenters, proven purpose-driven leaders, who’ve mastered the art of increasing influence, meaning and significance. The goal is to inspire and encourage the leaders of today to discover, develop, and deploy in their respective industries, using their unique gifts and talents. 

Randy has had tremendous success over the years and has served as a key contributor to numerous organizational achievements. Since founding World Wide Village, he has set his focus on creating sustainable communities primarily in Haiti as well as in partnering countries such as Trinidad, Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, St. Lucia, Guyana, Uganda and Ghana, focusing on community development by building and sponsoring local churches and schools, ensuring access to safe water, sanitation, healthcare, and sustainable jobs – all with a goal of eliminating “chronic dependency”.

In 2015 and 2016, Randy served on The President’s Task Force for the Redevelopment and Revitalization of Puerto Rico, which required him to meet with the group on a semi-annual basis at the White House to discuss strategies and implementation plans for the project. Additionally, in 2010 he served in a leadership role with the Clinton Foundation on the rebuilding efforts of Haiti after the catastrophic 7.0 Mw earthquake devastated much of the area; all efforts were focused on rebuilding Haiti into a sustainable country without dependency on global aid. Randy has also participated in Acton Institute University, an annual event, where 1,000 invited global leaders spend four-days exploring the intellectual foundations of integrated philosophy, business development, and sound market-based economics. 

Randy attended Winona State University and received his Business Degree from Southwest Minnesota. He frequently participates in continuing education and professional development opportunities in an effort to stay ahead of business trends and current in evolving industry standards and regulations. In addition to his formal education, and numerous industry certifications, Randy has a wealth of knowledge in the roles and responsibilities of a board member having worked alongside board leadership and executive leaders, for both non-profit and for-profit organizations, serving and leading efforts on numerous projects throughout his career, as well as by serving on the board of World Wide Village since inception.
